BIOGRAPHY
Osvaldo
Parisi was born
in
Paraná
,
Argentina
. At the
“Instituto Superior de Música
de la
Universidad del Litoral” in
Santa Fe
(
Argentina
) he received
the diploma
“Profesor
Superior de Guitarra” in the master class with Jorge
Martinez Zárate.
In a lot of competitions he won first
prizes and got an award from “Coupe Internatonale
de
la Guitare” in
Paris
. For three
years he taught guitar
at the province-conservatory in
Rio
Gallegos(
Argentina
).
He completed his studies of the lute with the solist´s
diplomas for
guitar and lute
with
Professor Eike Funck at the “ Musikhochschule Hamburg
”gaining
the highest
qualifications.
On his three instruments guitar, lute , vihuela he performed
numerous solo concerts
and
chamber music in
Argentina
,
Brazil
,
Germany
,
Austria
,
Poland
,
Holland
,
Spain
,
Italy
,
France
,
Switzerland
,
Norway
,
Turkey
, the
USA
and
Canada
. He
performed in
world-famous
concert halls like the
Concertgebouw in
Amsterdam
, the
Teatro Colón
of
Buenos Aires
, the
Alte Oper Frankfurt or the Salle Gaveau
in
Paris
.
Osvaldo Parisi is
in charge of the guitar classes at the Musikinstitut in
Erlangen
and runs
courses for guitar and old music. In
1984 the
city of
Erlangen
awarded him
the “Kulturförderpreis
für
Musik” . In the series
“Musica Antiqua”
he performed with musical
instruments
of the Germanische Nationalmuseum Nürnberg.
Together
with the baritone Reinhold Wiedenmann he
dedicated himself to the research and
performance
of music
adaptations of numerous medieaval epic poems of the minnesingers
like
“Titurel” by Wolfram
von Eschenbach (about 1170-1220). This work was published
by
the two artists for the first time as
CD.
In 1993 Osvaldo
Parisi and the ud- vrituoso Metin Demirel (
the ud is the oriental lute) founded
the OUD-DUO. Their
repertory comprises
solo pieces for the
“western lute” as well as for the “oriental lute”
which was the origin of the lute centuries ago. Both play
duo compositions after motives
and elements of the European Old Music and in the
performance style of the
middle east..
In 1998 Parisi recorded
the CD “El Siglo de Oro” with original compositions
for vihuela and
Renaissance
lute.
